A New Day
Today is a new day. A clean slate. A brand new start! 🙂
What is your day going to be like? Obviously we don’t know the full answer to that question because some things are out of our control. But there are certain things in our day we can control and be mindful of. Are you mindful of how you’ll spend your day or will your day just run itself and you’ll follow along?
The definition of mindfulness: the quality of being conscious or aware of something. A way of paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment.
Observe where you are.
Observe how you are.
Observe what your day looks like?
Did you know that where you focus your attention is where most of your energy will go? If you spend today thinking about things you don’t like or things that are negative, most likely your day will be filled with more of that.
Instead flip those negative things upside down and be mindful at finding gratitude in the day. Speak out loud what you’re grateful for. Tell someone else what you’re grateful for. Focus on what you would like to do today. Write those things down. Soon this will become a pattern and it will become easier to choose internal calm and joy even in amid the craziness of things we can’t control.
Today is new and without excuses, look at it with fresh eyes!
