Cranberry Orange Scones
Oh. My. Word. So I’ve made lots of recipes before, but I’ve never used Essential Oils in my baking. Can you say crazy good! The essential oils are so highly concentrated it just ramps up the flavor in my recipes to a higher level…I was singing that as I typed it! Haha Anyway, we enjoyed these little babies this morning and just wanted to share the goodness with YOU! Take a deep breath in and you just might be able to smell that wonderful orange smell…oh the goodness of summer in a bottle!!
INGREDIENTS
- 2 Cups flour
- 1/4 Cup sugar
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon salt
- 1/2 Cup dried cranberries or fruit
- 1//2 Cup chopped nuts
- 1/3 Cup butter – cut in
- 1 Cup whipping cream (yum)
- 5-10 drops Orange Essential Oil
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine dry ingredients, cut in room temperature butter and mix until crumbly. Add 1 cup of whipping cream and stir until moist. Add fruit and nuts as you stir in the whipping cream.
Turn onto a well floured surface, roll into a ball and knead 5 or 6 times.
Press down into 1/2 inch thick circle. Cut into wedge pieces. Bake at 375 for around 15 minutes, depending on if you like your scones tender/flaky or dry/crumbly.
Serve warm with Orange Devon-shire Cream or Orange Glaze. YUM!
