Pasta Sauce
I am kind of a rebel when it comes to cooking and baking. I might start with a recipe and modify it as I go along or I might just make up a recipe in my head and see how it turns out. I call it my creative cooking!! lol So this pasta recipe was a modification, a little bit of this and a little bit of that. But it turned out yummy!
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 can crushed tomatoes – 28 oz
- 2 cans tomato paste – 6 oz each
- 2 cans tomato sauce – 6.5 oz each
- ½ cup water
- ½ t fennel seed
- 1 t Italian seasoning
- ½ t salt
- ¼ t black pepper
- ¼ to ½ cup of olive oil
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 large green or red pepper, chopped
- 1 yellow squash – chopped
- 1 handful of mushrooms – chopped
- 1 handful of fresh basil – chopped
- 2 drops of Mountain Savory essential oil
- 1 drop of Black Pepper essential oil
- 1 drop of Oregano essential oil
DIRECTIONS
Saute’ garlic, onions, peppers, squash, mushrooms and fresh basil in olive oil. Once vegetables have softened add the rest of the ingredients except the essential oils, they will be added at the end of the cooking process. Let simmer 10-15 minutes, add the essential oils and serve over pasta. Enjoy!
